Julie Krehbiel was named vice president and general manager - Automotive in April 2005. She is responsible for managing Union Pacific's automotive business unit, which represented approximately $0.8 billion in 2009 freight revenue. The business unit manages all commercial aspects of the automotive business, which includes coordinating the operation of the network to meet the needs of its customers. She is also responsible for the Insight Network Logistics and ShipCarsNow subsidiaries, focused on third party automotive logistics and used car transportation.
Krehbiel started her career at Union Pacific in 1988 as a management trainee in Marketing and Sales. She has held various positions during her tenure with the railroad on business teams including automotive, chemicals, industrial products and Market Development and Sales Center (MDSC).
A native of Fargo, North Dakota, Krehbiel is a Creighton University graduate with a bachelor's degree in administration. She is a founding member of Union Pacific's LEAD (Lead, Educate, Achieve, Develop) women's initiative and serves on the Institute of Career Advancement Needs board. Krehbiel is also a member of the Boystown Booster Board and serves on two advisory councils for Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL. She and her husband Tom have five daughters.
